About the Partnerships Team
The Partnerships Team aim is to improve the quality and effectiveness of voluntary & community groups' involvement in multi-agency work. These groups have many opportunities to work with other organisations in partnerships, covering many activities, e.g. regeneration, community safety, learning, health and social care. Partnerships can enable groups to represent the views of their members and influence policy development and service delivery.
The Partnerships Team supports and enables groups to get involved in multi-agency partnerships and so improve their communities. We do this by:
- Supporting networks and forums to enable voluntary & community groups to work together to have a stronger voice
- Supporting representatives on partnerships
- Providing information on new initiatives
- Working with partners to establish effective structures for voluntary & community involvement
- Supporting smaller groups and those from disadvantaged communities (including disabled people & minority ethnic communities)
Team Activities
The team’s activities include:
- Supporting voluntary & community involvement in health & social care partnerships
- Supporting VYON (a network for groups working with young people)
- Supporting black & minority ethnic groups to participate in networks & partnerships

- Supporting the Voluntary Action Network to promote partnership working & communication between the voluntary & community sector and the Kirklees Partnership
