Involve ‘Third Sector Trends’ Survey

Following the success of their Third Sector Trends Survey back in 2011, Involve Yorkshire & Humber now want to update the data to see what has happened to the voluntary sector in the meantime and understand the impact of trends and changes affecting it. The new study is being carried out by Professor Tony Chapman of Durham University – anyone interested in taking part in should contact judy.robinson@involveyorkshirehumber.org.uk by Wednesday 29th May.

Nominations are now open for Sheila McKechnie Campaigner Awards 2013. The awards recognise the outstanding contribution that a new generation of campaigners are making towards achieving social, environmental and economic justice here in the UK and abroad. UK’s First Social Impact Bond Fund Opens

Bridges Ventures and Big Society Capital have launched the UK’s first Social Impact Bond. The £14 million fund will invest in charities and social enterprises to deliver programmes designed to improve social outcomes in areas such as education, employment, housing and care for vulnerable young people and that will benefit society as a whole. Sport England’s Improvement Fund Re-Open

The second round of Sport England’s Improvement Fund is now open. Grants of between £150,000 and £500,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations to support medium sized improvement projects designed to increase the number of people who regularly play sport in England. The funding that will improve the quality and experience of sport and deliver capital improvements through new build, modernisation or refurbishment. More details can be found via the Open 4 Community website. The deadline to submit an Improvement Checklist is Saturday 29th May.

Vacancies – Healthwatch Leeds

Healthwatch Leeds (HWL) is the new local champion for consumers of Health and Social care. They are looking to recruit four Community and Information Facilitators. Two positions are available on a full time basis (37 hours per week), & two on a part time basis (18.5 hours per week). They also require an Administrator on a full time basis. Skipton Big 160 Appeal

Skipton Building Society are 160 years old, and to celebrate this, they’ve created the Big 160 Appeal which will provide 160 grants of £500 to assist grassroots groups across the country. They’re looking for community based groups, and will consider any proposal, with preference given to organisations who struggle to access mainstream funding and receive little support elsewhere.
