From October 2013 West Yorkshire VCS employment law and HR services will no longer receive lottery funding. Once PERS’ funding ends their usual services (including their employment rights telephone advice line) will still be available, but on the basis of an annual subscription (typically between £255 and £468). For a limited period, organisations can sign up now for a one-off fee of £200 and have full access to the advice line until October 2014. Full details about these changes, as well as upcoming changes to the PERS website can be found in this PERS document.

Charities Online Now Live
A reminder that Charities Online – HMRC’s new system for claiming Gift Aid, has now been launched. It replaces the paper form currently used to claim tax repayments. The transition period for implementing the changes will end on 30th September this year. This tight timescale means it is important for Charities to take steps now to ensure they have everything in place. If you don’t, claims may end up being delayed or even reduced in value. NCVO have produced this handy ‘Is Your Charity Ready?’ guide. For more info, contact HMRC directly on 0845 302 0203.
