Creative Employment Programme – National Provider Needed

The Creative Employment Programme will support up to 6,500 new apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships and paid internships (graduate and non-graduate) across the arts and cultural sector. The Arts Council is opening a commissioned grant for applications to find a national provider who will deliver the programme. The successful applicant will receive up to £15 million to deliver the programme which will directly benefit unemployed young people. The grant for the provision of this programme will run from December 2012 to March 2015. For full details visit the Arts Council website. Tunnelton Productions

Tunnelton Productions write and produce drama productions in partnership with local community groups (including scriptwriting workshops, acting and directing guidance), which are then performed in public and community settings. The group are currently applying for funding to expand their work across Kirklees and Calderdale and are keen to work with community groups as well as schools and care homes. Does Cultural Activity Contribute To Wellbeing?

A Government-sponsored consultation seeking to identify the factors that influence national wellbeing makes no explicit mention of the arts or creativity, suggesting that cultural activity could be excluded from future statistical measures of quality of life. Any  individuals and organisations that are involved with artistic and creative activities are urged to make their voice heard by taking part in the consultation. Media Trust – Campaigns For Good Competition

Media Trust are staging a competition in which charities can pitch their forthcoming campaign ideas. The winning charity campaign will receive a planning session with award-winning JWT London executives to help them build their brand strategy and develop ‘starter for ten’ campaign ideas. The winner and two runners up will also receive ongoing volunteer communications support, resources and training over the following three months.  The closing date for the competition is Friday 8th July at 12noon, full details can be found here and you can enter the competition at this website.
