Vacancies – Healthwatch Leeds

Healthwatch Leeds (HWL) is the new local champion for consumers of Health and Social care. They are looking to recruit four Community and Information Facilitators. Two positions are available on a full time basis (37 hours per week), & two on a part time basis (18.5 hours per week). They also require an Administrator on a full time basis. Skipton Big 160 Appeal

Skipton Building Society are 160 years old, and to celebrate this, they’ve created the Big 160 Appeal which will provide 160 grants of £500 to assist grassroots groups across the country. They’re looking for community based groups, and will consider any proposal, with preference given to organisations who struggle to access mainstream funding and receive little support elsewhere. Vacancies – Community Links

Community Links are looking to recruit for two ‘casual workers’ vacancies - to provide cover for absent staff or extra help during busy times. The CIC Group have a number of vacancies for Domiciliary Care CommunitySupport Workers. Full time and part time roles are available  in Mirfield and Liversedge area, and are based around supporting older people to live independently in the local community. Castle Hill & Dial Wood Receive Quality Award

Congratulations to Castle Hill School & Dial Wood Carriage Driving For The Disabled, who have become the two latest organisations to receive the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award.  Both organisations will be presented with a certificate recognising their excellence  in providing positive and rewarding experiences for their volunteers. Vacancies – Radis

As part of their Woodland Court Extra Care Housing Scheme, Radis currently have vacancies for a Support Worker and a Team Leader. Nominations For ‘The Emleys’ Now Open

Nominations for the inaugural Arqiva Emley Moor Community Award are now open.The award, which launched last year in conjunction with Arqiva, aims to celebrate unsung local heroes by inviting people to recognise their contribution towards the lives of individuals, or the work of charities and community projects.   Nominations were opened by Simon Reevell, MP for Dewsbury, and will remain open until Friday 10th June.  Full details how to nominate can be found in this Emleys press release.

Volunteers Needed – YCC

During half term, 3rd – 7th June, the Yorkshire Children’s Centre are looking for a team of volunteers to help out with decoration/painting of Brian Jackson College, in Heckmondwike. This is the YCC’s  inclusion school and it is in real need of a freshen up.  All the paint has been kindly donated. individual volunteers or an organisation that can spare a few of their employees for a couple of days would be gladly welcomed. One Community – Mayor’s Charity Of The Year

The Community Foundation for Kirklees, One Community, are proud to announce they have been selected as the Mayor of Kirklees’ chosen charity for the municipal year 2013-14. Established in May 2010, One Community is a non-profit organisation and registered charity created to generate financial support for Kirklees based community activities. Their role is to build and manage a series of charitable funds, to make a lasting contribution across Kirklees, by delivering grants to local groups and the wider community. To make a donation by cheque, please make cheques payable to the Mayor of Kirklees Charity Appeal and send it to: Mayoral Office, Huddersfield Town Hall, Ramsden Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2TA.
